Hey...i just put new rims and tires on my 87 T/A...I think my front end needs alignment but im not to sure? Even if it doesnt it wouldnt hurt to get it done correct? WHat do they do and how do they do it? Where can i get it done and what is the cost?

Yes, have an alignment done. They will also check the front suspension for worn parts. If it's been more than a year since your last alignment, get it done. Don't be suprised if you need an idler arm or some other suspension part. In it's most basic form, an alignment makes sure the tires set up and down at the correct angle and the tires point straight down the road. A proper alignment will ensure the tires last as long as they should.

 

How much does this usually cost

 

Alignments are usually $50. More if you need parts installed.

 

If you run in to the same problem as me your idler arm will need to be replaced, I hear it's a common problem. That will add another $100 or so if you have some one else do it.
