Oil presure wierd!!!

Ok I went to the store and took off from a light kinda quick and hard to have a little fun. Well when I was on my way back home I notice that my oil gauge was pegged all the way over to the high side. The engine was running fine, but the presure was reading high.

When I got home I turned the car off and then back on and the presure went back down to the middle mark ware it is all ways at.

Was this just a funky little problem the car got over or is this some thing I should be worried about?

BTW: I changed the oil sender about 2 months ago.

Did it peg into the red. Or was it just pegging higher.
When you rev your engine up your oil pressure should be rising because the pressure inside the crank case is going to go up with temperature rising.
Then when you restarted it was back to normal sounds right. As your car cools back off and is at normal operating temperature the guage should be in a normal (average) pressure area.

that was kinda lame there Ovrclck350, you could of started a new thread and then deleted it or lock it. being you have that power.

anyways, sound like your key was just in a wacky spot, I have a lose stearing colum, something broke in the tilt. So if i turn sharp too many time it will turn my key off, the car can still run but the key can move back or forward of the run position which makes the gauges peg to the right or just act wacky.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys.

There is no red mark on my gauge. Just three white marks. Normally my presure is on the middle even during a race. I think 86bird may have the answer. after ten years things in my stearing colum are starting to get a little wiggly. My turn signal/wiper/high beam lever is the worse. It has a lot of play in it. My lock doesn't have that much just a little, but I didn't bother to see if the other gauges were peg over to the right. I was to bussy going "OR CRAP NOW WHAT!!!!"

Over the last week my radiator hoses and battery gave up the ghost and had to be replaced. Now it looks like the radiator it self need to be replaced. It has a trickle leak up at radiator neck and you can see corrosion along the fins on the side. Well at least I was all ready planing on replacing the hoses and battery. The scary parts was that the battery was the original from 1992. I would just charge it up once in a while and every thing was fine for about 3 months.

That would have been an abuse of power IMO.

Check the cable, mine was loose and it did that. I eventually forgot about it till it pegged completely up and stayed there, that was caused by it falling completely off.

I paid $30 for a perfect V-8 Aluminum radiator at Pick Your Part.
I took out 10 to choose from to 5 to one.
Use hacksaw (for hoses!) and 10mm wrench for the top cover part.
Out in about 2 minutes!
RIP AND CRACK ALL STUFF YOU SEE
IT'S NOT YOUR CAR
IT'S FUN
Your wire at sensor is bad, loose, etc.
Use brake cleaner to clean, recrimp fitting, sand scuff metal tab, should be good!
Pegging equals NO CONTACT TO SENSOR (true pegging! not high pressure)
