hey everyone
heres the deal, there is a kid in my school that has a 305 TPI bird, and he keeps talking trash to me, he always tells everyone how he will "KILL" my car, and he tells me to my face this, and brings in the stats on my engine (stock) and he shows me (like already dont know what they are) just to try to tell me that he can beat me, i think hes jealous, cuz his car looks like a piece and i took care of mine.
do ya guys think i should race him? let him think what he wants? keep trying to defend myself?
what do i do?

Why argue with the guy? I mean he's right. So he's a ********, there's nothing you can do to change that, and nothing will shut the guy up. Be nice to the guy, he'd obviously like to be into his car so you share something in common. If it doesn't work out then what have you lost/

 

There are guys here who say they have beaten' 305's. Mainly because they are a V8 and make a little more HP, but their engine ways a hell of a lot more than ours too. What kind of running condition is it in? If its a "piece" and its not running tip top, and you take car of your engine and etc. you may have a chance.

First, you SHOULD remove all of your stereo gear to "lighten" your load. And it could be "close"! I am leaning to the side where I think you need another mod or two. Just mu .02!!

 

before getting locked:
1. Ignore him
2. Ask him how many honka's have spanked him...
3. we he gets up in your face about it, bytch slap him

4. Take it to the track. If he wins ask him why he didn't win by more
5. If on the street, preferribly not, but meet him some where,. You get there 2 hrs early, let your car cool off, it will pul harder. When he gets there, bs with him a little bit. Let his car keep warm. get the hole shot.
6. Ignore steps 3 & 5, & enjoy your car

 

Race him. What do you have to lose. Think about it if you lose you can point out the fact that you do have less hp etc. And if you win (very doubtful TPI rocks) but could happen then you can bug him.

But if I were you I would try to talk sense to him. Why not talk about your cars. A race of a two F-body's and you losing to an eight is more satisfying then being beat by a ***** don't you think.

I know how you feel, just acouple days ago, two kids i use to go to school with stoped by Autozone. They came in stood around until it got really busy and left. After I had gotten off of work I found that they had taken an oil filter broken it open and poured it all over my car. My car is white. I file a police report but the police couldn;t get a print off the oil filter they left under my car. Here's the kicker, I want home to wash the car and i found out the oil stained my paint. Even though i used bug and tar remover, and compounded that side of the car. So now I drive around with a big brown stain on my driverside door.

The best advice i can give you is ignore him, if he does something to your car, then get the police involved. Other then that don't worry about it.

I got a 3.4 in my 85 Firebird w/3:42 axle.
I was infront of what was the birthplace of my 1985 Firebird, Van Nuys Car Plant in Van Nuys, CA (now a shopping center).
I saw this 2000 Z-28 as I pull up to light, I give the guys a big thumbs up (Silver, wheels & nice exhaust tone-right on!!).
I had no intention of racing, so they got me at the light, I tried to catch up, they had me SO BAD I LAUGHED WISHING I HAD A NOS BUTTON
Or my 1967 Camaro Convertible w/4-speed & the LT-1 350 (w/400hp).
Get your head outta your A$$, you ain't gonna win.
AND besides who cares?
Date a prettier girl then he is!
I mean, put out your effort for something worthwhile (like a HOME RUN IN THE WOODS WITH HER!!)

 

Had to open it for a second to reply that you're talking about a 305 TPI. Some of the 305 TPI's were as quick as the L98's.

A 305 TBI is one story...but a TPI....what in the hell are you thinking? Seriously.....
