Ok well i thoght just one of my wires was bad well tongiht i popped the hood only to find a blue light show going on under my hood.
My coil first off is arching off it self liek you have the pastic shell and then around it is the metel plate things its comin outta the plastc and making a spark on metel things aorudn it.
Second all the wirres on the pasanger side are arching any were they can you name it if its metle it will arch.
Third on the top of the Dist the wires are arching there too thogh the boots
My number 3 and 5 clylynder wires are arching off the head
Only on the passanger side the drivers side seems fine
I tried disconnecting my 6al it helped but its still sparking off everything. The blaster coil is a year old the wires are a few months old along with the cap and rotor. I need to get this fixed i ha ve a set of wires im gettin tuesday but im almsot sure that wont fix the whole problem.

Ok , ignore that other post about me telling you not to get new plugwires , you need new plugwires now !
Are the wires touching your valve cover ? Don't let them , use wire separators or wire looms .
For your coil , MSD has a one year warranty . Send that sucker end and let them send you a new one !
BUT , before you do all of this . It sounds like you might be having some kinda of electrical problems somewhere like I was , in the coil electrical wires to the cap or somewhere to be having this many problems .Im ganna leave this part up to Karl or Tom with help in testing or finding that problem .
But , I wish I could see under your hood at night , its sounds like your having a electrical light show ! Id be popping the hood at night and charging admission for the neighborhood kids !

i didnt wana spend 50 bucks on a coil so i foudn my stock coil same thing that coil is sparking off any thing too so i know its not the msd coil any other ideas???
It sounds like your having some kind of an electrical problem with you wires ( not ignition wires) . The wires going from your coil to distributor , or other wires , or even bad connectors .

I know now.
ONE of your SIX plug wires is bad.
It just shows all over.
Performance is sluggish or choppy, erratic idle.
I'm working on something.
Don't give up on the hood.
Just have to connect.
I'm heading to East LA this Sat AM.
Getting a power steering pump rebuilt, 3 radiators cleaned and resealed/repainted, purchasing a new rebuilt torque convertor. All under $180.
May end up visiting Pomona for ya.

My MSD Blaster SS coil has some discoloration above one of the terminals... I think it's the + terminal? But you're talking about a direct-fit coil, right?
I agree with Wayne & Karl, I think it's your wires. What condition are your current wires in? Are they old? Cheap? Covered in grease/oil? If you're getting a light show off of every wire, it can't be the coil. I think you might be seeing sparks out of the coil because your coil wire is either shot (inside the boot) or not clipped firmly onto the tower.

Well all i can say is its still doing exactly what it did before its still sparking all over the place not as bad when i disconect my 6al but its still doing it so im gona take it to my frineds shop after work have him deal with it. I check the ground wire and everything the coil is still sparking the wire that goes on the coil is doing what my MSD wires did sparking on any pice of metel it ****IN BLOWS. Its like my car is giving it too many volts even the stock coil was sparking
Keep us informed man . Im feelin your pain , I went though something similar a few weeks ago , except it was during school and I was without my car for two weeks .It even seemed like I was right from day one about my car bad electrical wires and none of the mechanics would check that first , then finally after two weeks they were like " doh , could it be bad electrical wires and connectors
But there was no way I would fix that myself , I dont know how to and Im scared of electricity ! I'll make my plugwires , put them on and do all the other ignition repairs but electrical wires! I still have not got it sorted out , they put a bad connector on my coil wire , the clip wont snap down all the way so when I drive it pops up some from all the vibration , for now I have it ghetto rigged with a rubberband keeping it down !
