super charger for 60*?

i was told that whipple made a whipple charger for the 2.8/3.1 motors and that b&m made centrifigul type blower for them too. is this true? does any body know if any company makes them for my car?(2.8, going to be a 3.1) how much would something like this cost a person?

honestly your better off finding a turbo with a bad exhaust section and pressing a gear onto the shaft. That way it will work just like a centrifugal S/C and be ALOT cheaper.

Back in 1980's B& M did have a program using superchargers on the 60*. On carb'd application using a Holley 4 bbl (390 cfm sized carb)
IT was NOT smog legal.
Market dried up & that product died.
NOW there was also a 4.3 supercharged Camaro, used/created by B & M to showcase, "Fuel Injection" & Supercharger application.
And that car was crushed as it was not smog legal.
YES....
Hot Rod mag from the 80's. You can stil contact B & M & ask about it, tho.

Whipple-
totally unaware.

K & F in San Diego way still makes a SC, but, not for the Fbody, only trucks.
Smog issues, ya know.

Someone correct me, tho, please.

B & M in Chatworth, Independence Ave.
Ask for main number then tech.
They'll help ya.
PS Back then the unit cost about $2500-$3K (1980-90's prices)
K & F still sells his.
I forget the guys name.
I think it Fagel.
His price is the same range, but his is legal for certain applications.
Your dollars.
Me/
I'd invest in a classic old Chevy & just do it right....
Like my old Camaro (1967 RS/SS Covnert & 1968) & Corvette (1974).
Find a great old classic car to invest the extra dollars in.
Better $$ rewards & cheaper parts.
Bet you could find an old race car somwhere cheap & bring it back to life.

I just got a hold of a supercharger that operates off of a drive pully. It was designed in the early 80s and given to my father 15 to 20 years ago by a representative of the company that makes it, where my father was a top notch mechanic in our area.
I really dont know the name of the supercharger ,but it was designed to attach to the alternator with a two belt pulley .
He tried it on a 6 cyl. carbed ford pickup years ago . He took it off because he said it sounded like a siren going down the road. He did notice more power and better fuel economy. He said I could try it on my firebird , He feels it would do better on my car where it was fuel injected.
I'm going to have to fabricate a bracket to use it on my car. But as soon as I get hold of a digital camera I'll post pics of the supercharger.

Sounds like a centrifical unit (it's circular).
That's about the best option for the 60* MPFI set up
