looks like a squirrel catcher, I mean air scoop to me

duct tape & masking tape

those accel wires add a nice splace of color

Karl has a sharp looking engine though ......What kinda altenator is that ? Is that one of those special ones ? Kinda looks like a powermaster one .

Looks like my alternator. Those 85-86 alternators had cooling problems, the thing overheats, the rear bearing cooks, and you're out buying a new alternator. So some rebuild companies re-designed the fan to improve cooling. It's basically the stock fan with a plate welded over the front.
