Turn signal problems

Ok, this is my dilemma. I have a 99 camaro v6 and the turn signals will light up but will not blink. However, the hazards work fine. All of my light bulbs have been checked and are functioning. I replaced the blinker flasher (round, silver canister) and the blinkers still don't blink. At this point i am thinking it is the turn signal switch in the steering column. Are there any other opinions on this before i go and tear out the steering wheel? Thanks for your time.

John

O.K.

Typical problem for old cars:

For a good turn signal's work (blink), the electric resistance or impedance must be the same for all the bulbs.

At first, you must be sure that all the turn signal bulbs are the same (use the original AC Delco or Sylvania, etc. replacement).

Second: Since the american cars have a relationship between turn signal and brake light systems, review this last system too.

Review batt voltage, terminals and connections for voltage "leaks".

Denis V.

I have a 99 camaro v6... did you mean 89, or could you not find a 4th gen board?

Both turn signals will not blink.

I know I had some problems with the wires breaking inside the case too the bulb. My 4 ways still worked but not my blinker I replaced the piece that holds the bulb (went to a bone yard and got one with 6 inches of wire) wired it back in. Done the cars signals worked again.

It does not matter if the bulb works. It could still be wiring. But if its in the colomn good luck.
