Steering column swap

My steering column is really messed up from the last owner who tried to 'fix' it.. the horn doesn't work.. the dimmer switch is missing a piece to make it work.. the ignition switch acts up.. bolts and clips are missing on it all over the place.. I just want to save some time and $$ and get another column from a junk car... problem is that my car is an auto v6 1986 sports coupe camaro.. and the other car at the junkyard is a 1988(maybe?) z28 camaro... everything looks about the same on the columns except on the z28 there is an extra switch on the winshield wiper arm for cruise control... does that mean this won't work for my car.. or would this go right in and that button wouldn't work?

anyone know?

That very close to correct.
You will have to improvise, especially since you'll have stuff in your hands, the solutions could/should be most obvious.
Or as extensive as remove the pin wiring connections and reconnect onto the connection on other column.
I have to do somthing like this shortly.
I'm obtaining a tilt column for my 85 Firebird from a 1987 Camaro.
It'll be different enough and the same enough that I can make it work.
SAVE old switches, ya never know.....
In my 85 Blazer, I can't rebuild the column anymore, it's beyond my skills.
Sucks, I've done it like ten times, tho.
No luck I give in. Got another one from an 89 S-10 truck.
