The Car Survived the Trip! (Central NJ to VA Beach) But now, p/s howling!
Oh, damn, I don't want to be here today. I want to be back on the beach... yep, went on vacation to Virginia Beach last week, left Thursday morning, got back Sunday night. The car ran great, no problems. Delaware was the biggest pain in the butt- constant traffic and construction and stop lights. Yesterday it took us a little over 3 hours to get thru Delaware! We were taking 13 & 1, I hear 113 bypasses all the traffic, so I'll have to look into that for next time. I think I'll see if I can find a map JUST of Delaware, instead of my "combined" Md/De map.
When I was coming home, around north delaware, I noticed a howling noise. Turns out my p/s pump started making a racket. I checked the fluid before I left on Thursday, it was full. I quickly checked it again when I got home Sunday, and the stick looked full, so I don't know. I suppose the heat killed it. The noise is louder now, and makes it sound like the car has a blower.
If I have to, I think I'll get one out of a junkyard instead of a Pep Boys Rebuilt Special. I hope that it just needs some fluid.

dead smell? Do they just pile the dead pieces of chicken up under the sun? Yick. We did see a ton of Perdue trucks, though.

You probably passed right by the road to my house. I live about 45 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel on the Eastern Shore about a mile off rt.13.
Does the noise get louder around 2k and vibrate the floor pan.
Iam having a similar problem but im not sure if it is the A/C compressor or the P/steering. Check for loose bolts.
By the way the smell from the Perdue plant is the rendering palnt where they process the guts. We have a Perdue and a Tyson chicken plant here on the shore.

No kidding! Yeah, we took the tunnel... I love that tunnel, don't even mind the $10. The tunnel looks like it's out of a video game... especially with the lights in the ceiling, and how we go "down" into the tunnel, and then back "up" on to the bridge.
I was going to give a yell to anyone living along the way, to meet some people, but I saved packing for the last minute (as usual), and didn't have time to wait for my home computer to connect. (Bought an AOpen internal 56k v92 modem for $25, I should've spent more for a "real" external modem.)

113 splits off of 13.. when you're going down 13 and see a fork in the highway past Burger King/KFC, take the left instead of the right... that's 113
Oh, and if went down 13 all the way to V.A. Beach, you definately passed 2 minutes from my house in Delaware.
