Question for those that have the DynoMax

I recently got my dnyomax on and what not. I also decided to Yank the C/C. It seems now I lost some Trq in the 2-4 gears. Has anyone else had this?....

I know its not the clutch cause it was barking 2nd before I installed the Dyno.... Then after it does not "Bog" but it drags a little. I smell no burning clutch either so it leads me to believe the C/C removal also removed some vital Trq... Whatcha all think?....

You can Ask 89CamaroRS, he has ridden in my car before and after, and man before it could give ya whip lash it hit 2nd so hard, Now nothing....

I know you do need some kinda back pressure on the engine to make it run right, so you might not have enough now. I was told dynomax are fairly quite?? How loud is it?? Gonna be having a 2.5-3 yo riding in mine, she hates my truck cause its too loud.

Honestly I do not tink its loud enough. Its too quite. Maybe 10-12 Db over stock system.

I was thinking the B/P thing too... Damn it, now I need to get a small 2" piece in there.... go 2 1/4 through "Y" then right before the cat eliminator pipe throw a 2" piece then go back to 2 1/4 then 2 1/2. If nothing else it will create a nice vacuum vortex....

I agree with that. Whenever I had my flowmaster system on which was no cat, 3" intermidate into the muffler with 2.5" outlet it seemed that the car lost some power. I have the Dynomax now and everything is fine.

Has anyone tried those dynomax straight through racing mufflers? they have like 2 1/4 ins and outs and get pretty big in the middle, little like a glass pack but shorter?

Another question. If I run true dual exhuast, do I need 2 o2 sensors? Or can I just put one in one pipe?

Don't even think about running true duals. The only thing good would be the looks. It would sound and perform like crap.

First off about the sound. I like the sound because it's nice and deep....and every other exhaust I've heard on a V6 sounds like Rice.....ALSO...at WOT, it seems to scream, yet I can still hear my engine....it's a nice balance.

Second, yes, by removing the CC, you lost a lot of low end because of a lack of backpressure. On a V8, the gain is worth it because of the high end you gain, but not on the V6.

Third, true duals on a V6 sounds like absolute ****.

Well now at 60-up it seems to have gained some more ***** though... DAMN IT you can never have your cake and eat it too! This sucks.. Oh well CatCo here I come.

Dale, I forget the part number, just call 1800 230 3030? damn off the top of my head too. And get it. Was $162? shipped?. Not bad overall, but I was just really thinking it would be a little louder/ deeper. I had to get a cat back as one of my pipes fell off the stock system, sad thing is though that was better sounding then this is...

I am thinking going to single out with a delta flow 60... Wonder how that would sound....

Because the shop that bent the tubes for me did not make them the way I wanted and they were going to cause more trouble to get them to fit.

CHC, the part is on back order, they plan on shipping on the 5th, same day it goes in the tranny shop, so thats kinda cool. Think I should go ahead and start spraying bolts with wd40, or some kinda stuff like that?? So I have two bolts on the converter, and how many in the rear?? And how much of a PITA is this, whole day?? Few hours????

well it comes with a new rear mount/hanger(on the body frame), that you have to replace/remove old one. Some of the bolts that you have to remove to drop the rear axle are in places that an air gun simply won't reach, so its knuckle scraping time. I would just remove the upper most tack arm, 3 bolds on the drivers side, and 1 onthe passanger side. Then remove the lower shock bolts(of course have the car up in the air somehow) then unbolt the other track arm on the passenger side and watch as your rear end drops 2 feet!.

The 2 cat bolts... have fun. I spent 3 hours tring to get them out then decided to hell with 'em put the gun @120 PSI rap rap rap snap.

I would suggest PB Blaster personally. but you only reallt have 3+1+1+2+2 (for the old/new rear mount) bolts to remove, and some cutting to get the old muffler/I pipe out. I think it took me 2 hours of actual work time to get all but the cat bolts out. It might have taken 10 minutes to get the system hung after wards....

Why do you have to drop the rear axle, just get the weight off the springs by supporting the body and the springs will push the axle down far enough to get the pipe over it.

Look what I found

Ok so it looks like our best bet if you arnt going to mod your car over 150 HP is to get a 2.25" cat back. 2.50" Cat back is good for 200 HP.

I got this chart from the Dynomax Website.

I asked people on the Flowmaster forums, They said go with a 50 series Delta flow, or a 60 Series delta Flow.

LOL I picked out the flow 50 series.. ordering today along with a 2 1/4 high flow cat. Figure having the cat halfway would be ok...

Why do you have to drop the axle?, the "I" pipe goes over a track bar. That track bar needs to be removed. At least working on the ground you have to do that. Lifts are a different story.
