Mufflers for Stock pipes.

I am looking for a muffler for my car, I am not really looking for performance, just a deep, and semi-loud sound. I want to be able to hold conversations at cruising rpm with the windows down.

I Am going to get a Muffler and tips, maybe 3 in tips.

- The reason why I do not want to get a Cat-Back Exhaust System is because I am 15, I have $300 canadian coin, and I have to buy my Insurance also ($170 for THREE MONTHS!!!!!!!! Yay Saskatchewan! its in MY name too btw)

- I recently just quit my job because I was working outside/inside non air condishioned in 100 degree heat 9 hours a day for $6.50 canadian coin and hour... like $4 an hour US...

- The muffler has to Fit on the stock piping. Maybe not the Tail Pipes, but before that. How much are tail pipes? But I don't have insurance right now so I cant take it to a shop, I'm gonna install it myself!

- I am going to take off the Cc because there is no emmision Laws.

- What about boom tubes for exhaust tips? They're 3" wide, Very long. I'd make them come out even to the bumper, (I can weld and cut! And my dad is a welder)

- I dont care if it gets ***** after 3500 - 4000rpm... I don't mind that sound. (please don't flame.) I want deep sound before that. (Cruisin speed)

- Can you just buy the pipe to put in instead of the Cc? or do I have to get a shop to cut it? I can measure it myself.

- It isn't hard to do this right? I shouldn't need a Haynes Manual or anything?

- Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks in Advance.

Check sig for car.

Well..

I downloaded the PDF for Flowmaster for Pontiacs.

It says I can get The 40 series, or the 50 Series 4 inch,
They are both 2.25 in/out. But it doesnt say if it's dual Outlet.

The part Number for the 40 series is 942443, The part number for the 50 series 4" is 942453. Whats the 4" thing mean?

What one is beter?

Thanks.

Hm...

The Delta Flow 40 Series is Louder then then the 50 Series, and quiter then the 80 series. Should I go with that?

Delta Flow 40 Series Chart: Interior Tone; Int he bottem of the 'deep' Magin, Exterior; In the bottem of the 'powerful' Seciton

Delta flow 50 series Chart: Interior Tone; Middle of the 'Mellow' Section, Exterior Tone; Top part of the Deep MArgin, Close to Powerful.

Is only having one tip gonna effect anything much? I'm Taking off the CC, but chc said u loose too much low end torque, But that was with His Dynomax cat back thats bigger pips than stock. So I don't know if i'll loose too much low end torque with stock pipes.

Anyone know if you can get 3" Tips for 2.25" Tailpipes? Do tips change the sound?

Thanks a alot, sorry for the long posts and questions, I might be done now lol.

Not done Tonight!

Well I went onto the Flowmaster forums,

Searched them;

They say that the 40 series sounds good on v6's upwards for 4.0L.

They said that the 50 series DF sound nice and deep on 2.8 and 3.1.

I guess thats whut I am going to get.

Is dual out just for looks?

Cause 2.25 in and one 2.25 out isnt restricting anything. For a 2.8.

go to jegs, summit, ......sites & look up mufflers/cat backs for your specific application. wright down the part numbers for them. contact the company where you got the p/n from and ask for there tech support. they should be able to give you the answers you need. failing that, contact flowmaster yourself.
