well here is the deal
im drivin and then a check engine light comes on...i shut off the car and it goes off...turn it back on...and its still off, this would occasionally happen...any ideas on what it could be?

also, sometimes when im at a stop sign and i give it more throttle off the line than i should, i hear a THUMP and feel the car move...could this be lack of traction or transmission?

 

Check your codes.. on the main page there is a faq that tells you how and a list of codes to see what your SES light is flashing..

 

Check codes. Usually a Code 32 pops up. Know as the EGR and Vaccum problems.

As for the Thump, I would say you have a weak transmission mount. Buy a new one and install, problem should end.
