ok here goes for the trouble, TURBO

ok after much thought and looking under the hood of the 86 camaro i THINK i can at least hook the turbo up to the oil lines, exhaust manifold, AND the intake......
however will be needing more fuel, and a better spark
i need suggestions on just about everything from installing a intercooler in a 81 GM riviera turbo
bigger fuel injectors,
a better flowing fuel rail,
higher volume fuel pump
fuel regulator,
coil,
would i need a seperate ignition system?
whats a good brand for head gaskets?
what about slightly taller and stronger head gaskets?
does anyone else know what i might be forgetting?
what kind of free mods can i do to the 2.8L TPI motor to make a lil bit more powr, or make it run cooler ect.
anyone have any shift kits in there auto trans?
if this works out right,
i WILL make some sort of kit for everyone else.....
muahahahahha
KA-ching

any other suggestions from you all to make my camaro faster? NO v-8's
dont need the extra insurance or gas costs

well there would be a sizeable discount, and what i was debating selling was like adaptors, and mounting gear only wich you know like 20 bucks or sumthing for the up pipe and maybe 5 for a piece of metal to mount it on, but i plan to post pics as soon as i get started, hell STILL havent gotten the car yet, LOL
should in like 2 weeks or so tho
HOPEFULLY
damned little paychecks
but i figure id make it basicly a how to on the messege board, and sell the kit on ebay or something
to non messege board members

Whos side are you on, if you develop a kit with the message boards help, you would just tell how you got and made everything like in a tech articale. You don't turn this board into a business, please no.

not a BUISNESS,
and for one i have to peice together the system, pay for EVERYTHING MYSELF,
so yea i wouldnt mind selling some kits or adaptors,
and as i said before a discount for members here,
if and IF you didnt want to make the parts yourself,
i said id most likely sell them on ebay

How much of this stuff are you planning to make and how much of it are you planning to have made? No flames intended, but if you're planning on going to an exhaust shop with a design and have them make the headers and to a machine shop for brackets, etc., then probably the best thing to do is just to post the designs and then everyone that wanted the same setup could go to a local shop and have it made. If on the other hand you were going to make all this yourself, then charging for your labor may not be out of the question. (Like CHC making headers. He actually makes them himself, and I don't see anybody complaining that he charges for them) There was a guy on another board who wanted to charge people $20 for an online "booklet" that showed you how to shoot flames out of your exhaust. The problem was that 3/4 of his "booklet" was a wishlist of stuff he'd like to try in the future. You wouldn't believe the crap he had to take after people read it, because he was trying to make money off of ideas that everyone else was giving out freely. Like I said, I'm not trying to be an *** or anything, I'm just saying be prepared to take a lot of **** if you try and charge for instructions on a turbo setup. If you do get it to work though and do a tech article on it, you will be forever immortalized (:hail: Karl's 3.4 swap:hail: )

no flames taken, its all good convorsation for me. i rather enjoy discussing ways to squeeze power from a v-6 when my n/a 3.8L was tuned and running good i could take 305's with it and i know im going to get **** for that remark but it is true
had headers, summit hp coil, turned the timing forward 4 degrees, and HAD for about 2 months a edelbrock carb with a adaptor plate, unfortunate side to all this was, low low end off idle, was ****, however middle and top end were magnificant.
might have been there high gears in the rear holding back my acceloration or not i dont know, but it went pretty good for a 3.8L with 130K on it
but now its got 151k, distributor is crapping out on me, the stock two barrel carb is crapped out on me twice since i had to put it back on, the passenger side header ended up rusting thru since i had wrapped them with insulation, so i had to put the STOCK manifold on, think my timing chain is toast and well interior is shot to hell transmission is crap so i figure why not get a 86 camaro with a 2.8L mpi for 800 bucks? interior body all that are perfect on it! lol and id realy like to try my hand at tweaking a fuel injected motor, and YES i like to be differnt, that is why im so interested in turbo'ing the 2.8L how many of them out there?
i do beleive i have the up pipes and all figured out pretty good have a 81-82 riviera turbo unit in good shape that i was going to toss onto the regal, (turbo makes more power with a fuel injected system btw or so says the GN boys)
and from what ive read will offer about 30% more power
need to figure out about injectors still, need big ones same with a fuel rail and so forth
but
no online manuals, that will be a tech article on how to hook it all up, along with some pics of the up pipe and turbo mounting,
i figured i aint going to spend my off time scrounging thru junkyards in search of 80'sGM turbos in good shape, so i figured im ok with a wire welder can cut pipes and know how to bend them why not offer a adaptor from either headers, or manifold up into turbo
and it wouldnt be much, at the very most......50 bux (off the top of my head figure)
that would cover piping, new flanges weled onto them and all,
plus some sort of mounting bracket you supply the turbo, and the turbo oil lines ect.
sound like a plan?
and the adaptor would be available if no one wanted to make or have one made to anyone with the cash so if you know anyone with a Grand prix, cavalier, s-10, corsica what ever had a 2.8L a 3.1L or a 3.4L motor and would like turbo tell em i have a battle plan for one.....
