what do you mean by real off? It could be that the plugs aren't in all the way, so your not getting a good seal thus bad compression. You didn't adjust your timing did you, or move the distributor? Also check to see if you may have accidently disconnected/broken any vacuum hoses while you were working.

1-2-3-4-5-6 Starting with the passenger front. 1-3-5 right bank, 2-4-6 left bank. Set motor to TDC on the crank. The rotor should be pointing towards the battery area of the engine bay ( front right fender/headlight direction), If so your on #1. if not the rotate the motor another full turn to TDC.

The factory position of the distributor has the rotor pointing towards the battery area when the engine is at TDC to the #1 cylinder. If you have removed your distributor at all and replaced it, You can very likely have things fouled up. The base of the distributor shaft has to be properly seated onto the oil pump drive gear. If you have the distributor out of the motor and so much as just change the oil in the motor, the gear can move and the distributor will not go back in to the existing marks. It then has to be swivled about to re align the shaft gear and then when inserted fully, reset to TDC with the #1 cylinder plug wire on cap towards aprox the battery location in the engine bay.
