about odometer...

How long does the odometer last? Or when does the odometer usually go out?

My first digit (from the left) is stuck.

Probably just a rare malfunction. You could buy another dash off of e-bay or a junk-yard to replace it but then your milage would be reading wrong.

If the rest of the odometer works I would say not to worry about it.

You can get an odometer off a junkyard car and take it to the dealer (I think they do it) and they can set the new one to match the reading on the one in the car. Otherwise you have to get a certification on the change b/c the odometer will read differently, and so if you ever tried to sell the car they could say you altered the odometer which is a major offense.
