Cam and rockers q's

I'll try to keep this brief.. I've already done a post about this kinda thing and most of you said you liked the Crane 2030 hydraulic cam...would you be able to tell me exactly what to look for on Summit, or better yet the parts #? I'm looking for a kit so I get the lifters too.. Sorry but ya know, I don't know JACK about cams so I dont even know where to begin to look. Also, I've heard about half the people here say to get 1.52 roller rockers, and the other say 1.6. Which set would be the best for the 2030 cam...this is assuming the rockers are only for this engine, I'm not doing a 3.4 swap or anything. Thanks guys.

With either rockers you'll have to change the springs using that cam. You might as well go with the 1.6 to get the extra lift if its power that you seek.

Will the 1.6 rockers make clearance or would I need to buy higher valve covers? (Not that I probably wouldn't anyways, the stock ones are UGLY)

Fiero covers... As long as they don't say 'Fiero', that works for me!

oo, BTW, if you cant get the bolts for the valve covers, go to autozone, get the metric bolts that are 6-1.00x25MM (?) with washer built on it, then get some washers that are a little bigger then the wasers built onto them, and then grind like the last 1/16-1/8" of the bolt of at home, and WALA, should have it licked.

Don't have a part # handy, but you can go to the compcams.com website, get a part #, and look it up at summitracing.com . Or you can call Summit and ask them for a part # and price check. You should replace valvesprings anyway because the ones you have are old! As to 1.52 vs 1.60, remember these affect the "gross lift" of the cam. You can check the gross lift by reading the cam specs, and multiplying the cam lift times the rocker arm ratio. In cam specs, gross lift is usually calculated using a rocker arm ratio of 1.50. For example, on a cam with an intake lift of .282", using a rocker arm ratio of 1.50, you get gross lift of .423. For 1.52, you get 1.52 times .282 which = .428. 1.60 rockers yield a .451 gross lift.

Thanks for the tip on the bolts, Dale!

The more lift, the better, right? Because I know little about cams in terms of numbers...so all the figures and mathematics might as well be in arabic to me!

It should be; as long as the intake and exhaust can keep up with it. I've even heard of some guys mixing different ratio rocker arms in, like, using a 1.52 for intake, and 1.60 for exhaust.

Nope, its the dupli-color color change you can get at autozone, pep-boys, some wal-marts, I just put it on heavy, and clear coated over it.

Tip on the bolts were for metric cars, I'm not sure when they swaped from american to metric.

Have you heard of any success with mixed ratios? I figure they sell them in a minimum of 12 probably anyways...so I'd have to buy 2 complete sets, it'd be too much money...but still, it's a thought
