Question about an ODD setup

My friend is modifying his conv. 91' firebird, He wants to see if he can modify the V6. First off he wants to buy a block(3.4) from the 4th gen camaro/firebirds and wants to install the heads from his 3.1 V6. Can this be done? Is there a different bolt pattern, I told him just to throw in a 350, but he wants to do this conversion. He wants to reuse the intake setup on the 3.1 V6 and reuse the heads(port the heads as well). So just to clarify would the heads and intake from his 91' 3.1 V6 BOLT right on to the 4th gens 3.4 block? thanx

Yes it'll work, that's a very common swap now considering it's cheaper to buy a used 3.4 and swap the short block in than rebuilding a 2.8/3.1

I belive other then the spring diameter, the heads are the same, and the "better" heads are the ones on the 3.4l.

What overclock is refuring to is getting a full 3.4l, pull the accsoreys, intake, flywheel, and reinstall yours off the 2.8/3.1.

Gain quite a bit of power from what I hear also.
