HAAHAHAHAAHa.
i dont think that fuel filters and oil filters were supposed to give you power? i know that an air filter will help with power. yeh go with headers, intake, cam.

1.52 rockers (or 1.6 if you can get valve covers that will let them fit, or so I've heard)
Get a shift kit so your shifts don't take 6 months
3.4 heads I've heard would make a difference
and the stuff all the other guys mentioned.
Why build a 305 when you could get a 3.8 turbo? It beats every 3rdgen V8 stock for stock, with near 300 rwhp, and you would probably do better on gas probably. Probably.

Yeah the whole point of doing a major tuneup (which it sounds like you left some things out!) is to bring the engine back to normal. It doesn't make sense to add an exhaust when the plug wires are 10 years old. So by doing the major tuneup, if your car was in crappy running condition, you bring the car back to "normal" running condition- and then the car reacts better to any mods you throw at it. Why put an exhaust on when the ignition system is so worn out that the engine is misfiring? Doesn't make sense.
What do you mean by "it revs before it speeds up"?

Maybe you can add some underdrive pulleys to it... unless you have a big amp in the back or something. Most manufacturers claim that they will 'free up' about 10 HP or so, and they aren't terribly expensive. Just a suggestion.
