We all dread changing the fuel filter out of fear the fuel lines will break. Well, a few months ago, it happenned to me. I found some repair kits at Pep Boys, and I know Tom was curious obout them, so I finally took some pics.

In this pic you can see on the top right where the NEW fuel line attaches to the fuel filter just as the original would. On the left is the fitting that attaches the new and original fuel lines. You simply put a plumbing farrel (sp?) and nut on the lines, and tighten them onto the fitting.

Hey, thanks for the pics! (And thanks to Dale for bringing it to the top so my dumbass noticed!!) I really like how you didn't need to use any hose to make the repair.. no worries about the hose getting old and busting open. I'll have to take a trip to Pep Boys and grab 1 or 2 (or 5, haha) of those suckers. You said it was a 3/8" line, right? Did the kit come with everything? I think you said it did, just re-checking.

Hey you could probably write up a tech article and submit it to thirdgen.org !!

Yes, it was 3/8" line. Kit comes with everything you see in the pics. Obviosly the plumbing ferrels are under the nuts. The only additional thing I had to buy was a bender, $6 at Sears.

I also like how there's no rubber hose involved. Seeing how easily vacuum lines dry and crack, the thought of that on a gas line...

I ended up just cutting both my lines and got the fuel filter with nippled ends, used some braided line and used doubble hose clams on each end. no worries mate.
