adidaas, you would be best to find a 93-96 camaro 3.4l, and strip the intake and a few other things off of it, and put your top on it. The 3.4l comes with 160 ponies, where your at 135-140 right now. Its virtualy a direct swap from what I have heard.

Ked85 could tell you the best.

I have the 3.1 yes they only came in the 90-92 cars. Its the exact same thing as a 2.8 just slightly bigger, i think almost everyhting is interchangelbale except the emissions crap but who needs that anyway

Why?????? When your intake manifold will bolt up to the 3.4 heads. Just yank the 3.4 intake off the 3.4 and swap out your intake w/ the 3.4 and you got yourself a 3.4 Of course dont forget to take out the plug where the distrib. goes. The 3.4 uses the new crap on it......lol.

ok, i want to be perfectly clear on this.

if i take the heads and intake manifold off of a stock 3.4L engine, they will bolt up directly to the 3.1L block?

No, leave the 3.4l heads. their the best heads ever made for a 60deg eng (2.8,3.1,3.4)

Use 3.4l block/crank/pistons
Use 3.4l heads
Use 3.1l intake
use 3.1l manifolds
use 3.1l distrib (3.4 dont have one)

Rest you would have to talk to ked85 about.

you basically are, your buying the 3.4 engine, and take the intake off and putting your 3.1 intake on it, and hook it up start and vrooom

Adidas..I'm too lazy to pull the sucker off and buy all new gasket material, etc. I just toweled all around it..newspaper too..and spraypainted it with the high temp engine stuff...it's held up VERY well..hasn't burned off at all. Works great. BTW, to answer your way back question..you can't bore our engines. Simply too thin. If you overbore it, you can get a 3.2..I know someone here's done that. That's all..it's not worth it..we can only bore to repair. Ans as far as stroking, I doubt the motor can be stroked any more than it already is.. Do what everyone else says, invest in a 3.4, and you'll be one haaaaappppy camper. 160 horses, around or a bit over 200 ft lbs. of torque. Now THAT's some grunt...

I've also got a 91' firebird 3.1 that looks a whole lot like 91FIREBIRDGT's car. I actually almost sold mine the other day, I was thinking of getting a 96' camaro. But when I came out of the hospital and saw her standing there... I just ran up and gave my baby a big ol' hug. I could never part from this car.

Last one of my CAI. I know it looks like crap, and it also weighs about 20 lbs, and I still have to make a shield to keep out engine bay air but it's the first thing I ever did to my car myself.

Adidas3k in the last pic, theres a length of hose that loops over the air tube thing that comes off the throttle body. That bypasses the coolant back to the block and keeps it from entering the throttle body. It's pretty controversial about whether it actually helps or not but it's a fun thing to do when you've got an hour or so free and if you don't live up north where it gets really cold there are no adverse effects. If you wanna try it, do a search and you should find complete instructions and what you need.

what is a TB bypass???
i picked up all the parts for my tb bypass from Pepboys all together it was like 5-7$$ then about 45 min of my time

1.Bypass Plugs (came in a pack of 2)
2. 1 foot heat resistance hose (cut hose to right length)

cuz me i ran the the hose on the wrong plugs the first time took it for a spin when i was done and watched the heat temp just rise, so i switched them and it took a tenth of a second off my 1/8 mile time

Krazy, I've been looking for a hi-flow cat to replace my stock one that's definitly clogged a bit. How much, where, all that did you get yours? The PVC pipe I used is like, a quarter inch thick at least, I gotta find some thin walled stuff to replace it with. btw, the tubing is taped to the ube coming off the TB and taped again at the conical. Duct tape and black electrical tape have saved me more hassle than I'll ever know.

Thanks a lot man! As for the seats I was searching left and right for them as well. A lot of the ones I did find were dark gray but I wanted black leather. I kept looking around locally and on e-bay and where-ever I could and i ended up finding the whole set on E-bay. I'll keep my eyes open for you dude. Where do you go to college at? I attend Lehigh Carbon Community College which is towards Northampton and what not, but I live in Bethlehem.
