Another crazy idea
Here's a crazy idea for ya...a friend of one of my friends suggested it as a weird project for someone with a LOT of money.. 
Use a 3.1 liter motor from, say, a Beretta...take the front-wheel drive assembly too..whiz-bam-boom....hack up a Camaro body and make a mid-engine V6 Camaro..... Food for thought for the rich people among us! (I know there's gotta be one or two..)

yup, remove the axle in back & flatten out thehatch for more "usable" space. I have read a story on something like this done to an El Camino using some 455 Buick fwd donor car. dude even renmoved the trans tunnel for more legroom.
