Urgent need of help(kind of long.)

Hey there guys recently I have had this problem of my accelerator pedal feeling soft.... I got a new t.v. cable and adjusted it by having one person floor the pedal until WOT and making sure the cable is tight. Now when I'm on the freeway it feels like I have to smash the gas for it to go pass 55. Tell me if this is shifting late or early please. 1st shift 15mph, second shift 30mph, third shift 45mph and I don't know when fourth kicks in because I always have to smash the gas pass 55. What could it be??? any help guys. If it helps i'll list mods: customair intake with drop in k&n filters,3"catback system with high flow cat, 8mm wires and rapidfire plugs. Is there any way I can tighten the accelerator cable without it snapping the green thing on my t.v.cable??? please help guys. thanks in advance.

TV cable control shifting, not acceleration. Tranny uses that cable to determine the amount of throttle you're giving so it knows when to shift, and also it controls the fluid pressure in the tranny. I think the cable directly tied with the accelerator is a big old thick black one back there. Does the car kick into passing gear properly? Example..if you mash the gas, does it just go like, say, a stickshift stuck in 3rd or 4th gear? Or does it shift, lag and kick for a second, etc. I don't see how that big thick accelerator cable could possibly get slack or anything..doesn't seem right...and I don't know of any way to fix that..

Those shift speeds...those aren't at full throttle are they??? I hope not..

My car, WOT, hits 2nd at 30, 3rd at 70-ish (screaming like a banshee...bad tranny)...don't know beyond that...too afraid to do over 100 on the highway.

By the way, how's the 3 in. catback work? The general consensus around here is to go no bigger than 2 1/2...3 in. seems like it would deplete low end power.

The 3" cat back is ok but I miss pleeing out when it rians. It does rob torque so im switching back to a 2.5" cat back from dynomax. Those ****s aren't in WOT those are normal shifts and I was also asking if I can tighten the accelerator cable the BIG BLACK one. I preciate ur help Nixon1.

That sounds like the exact same way mine shifts....I have had some problems with the accerator cable. I just gave up on it downshifting...I would do it myself.

Ok..couldnt tell you if it's screwed up or not...and the thing about normal shifts is, they change depending on how much gas you're giving it and how steady with the pedal you are. You can get the car to go into 2nd at 10 mph, or at 20 mph, see what I mean? It's so variable that it's hard to tell without actually driving it yourself...that's why I only use WOT shift #'s for comparisons...
