That's why! I'm rebuilding an '81 T/A from the ground up.
I just scored a 2.8 with a T5 with 60k miles (all works perfect, just pulled for a 350 into the '89 Camaro) for $150, so I can't complain.
Plans - T5 gets replaced, current T5 gets rebuilt
2.8 gets stroked to 3.1, 204/214 melling cam set, heads ported/polished, intake ported polished, disable egr (not for performance, just so that I don't have to deal with cleaning the intake all the time from that crud soot stuff!) 1.6 rockers with Fiero valve covers.
It'll all take time, so I'll keep you guys up to date
