Where to Get a Custom Chip?
got o ebay.com and buy the burning equipment and chips for 140ish(If that)
If you already have a laptop your ahead of the game.
Make an ALDL cable(go to google and easrch for 8191 BAUD) pages upon pages will come up with the diagram.
download Tunercat and (email me for additional information you will need)*****
then data log with laptop and cable, SEE where your cars needs more fuel, timing ect, and then use tunercat to make the required changes. Burn the new chip. install the new chip and test it.

Where do you live? There is a guy called funstick on the boards that burns PROMS for a fee. However, I think he needs to have the car on the premise so he can fine tune it. Custom burning is the best way to see the most performance gains. Most of the "performance" chips are tweaked on the conservative side so, unless other mods have been done to the motor, you really won't see a difference.

this is probably a kind of dumb question but i haven't messed with chips much. Can you burn a stock one of do you have to have an aftermarket chip already?

Jesse, until you get the car really modded up, I wouldn't worry about a chip as one of your first things. Do all the regular speed parts first, then worry about a chip.

put a cold air intake on it, the stock canister holds it back A LOT!! that is unless you have the dual snorkle air cleaner.
