Yeah..it's got some get up and go. Awesome 0-30..past that, wellll... Don't get a carbed 6..that goes without saying. The 2.8 is iffy...it's got some power but lacks a little. The 3.1 is a little better. Go for a 3.4. 160 hp, and 200 ft lbs of torque...and it drops right in and bolts up to the 2.8/3.1 V6 tranny. Good stuff.

I guess it depends on wether you want a project car or a dependable ready to go daily driver, or if you want a 3rd gen or a 4th gen car. The 4th gen car, I would get a 1996 or newer 3.8 liter car. They have 200 HP, and are a pretty decent package, especially if you can find one with the performance package in it. They had the 3.43 posi rear and the Z28 exhaust system. If you want a 3rd gen, then I would get one of the 1990-1992 3.1 liter V6s, unless you can find a really clean low mile earlier fuel injected 2.8 liter. If you want a project car, buy a 2.8 liter car with a good body, but with a lot of miles, Swap in a 3.4 liter long block from a 1993-1995 Camaro/Firebird, rebuild the trans, if it is an auto, and let it roll. That would be what I would do, depending of course on what it is you are looking for.

My wife used to have a 1995 Camaro 3.4 liter automoatic. It was a dependable and fun car. It also got about 27 or so MPG on the interstate, and I think it averaged nearly 20 MPG overall. It only had 64K miles on it when we sold it, and that was this past summer.

V12 huh?

What did you do? Glue three V-techs together?

Well its a "type R" so its Honduh powered

Which means this is appropriate...

What kind of v8? Have you tuned it up recently? I just wonder if your v8 is running poorly and thats why your gas mileage is so bad. A v6 has to work harder than a v8 does, so you might not see much of an improvement in gas mileage.

I got me a V12... I took a Viper engine, and duct taped it to 2 moped engines.. The moped engines are basically my twin starter setup, since I'm running the Viper engine on 14.5:1 compression and 24 degrees of advanced timing...really doesn't wanna crank over! Last time I didn't tighten one of my spark plugs down enough and the compression shot it through the hood...I think it achieved orbit...

Obviously someone is trying to flame everybody, when we are trying to answer serious, legitimate questions. Maybe he took two inline sixes and sandwiched them together in there side to side with a custom crank. He must have used the transmission out of one of the new turbodiesel trucks to handle the torque output of the twin inline six, errr... V12 Type R!

You know, any time I see a type R badge anymore I always assume that it is some punk poser, because 80% of the cars with that badge, are base models.

Exactly. But we all know every badge and sticker adds 5 hp a piece...that's why Nascar cars have all those ya know! :P

Like Tom said, what V8 is it & when was the last time you had a full tune up? I have carbbed LG4 in my Sport Coupe... I get the same gas mileage as I did when I had the 2.8 under the hood... my Moms TBI RS gets better mileage still. Just depends on how hard you lay into the throttle
