with the 2 fwd motors it will give you MASSIVE headaches and you could buy an 02 SS for the money you will put into it.Originally posted by firebird/intrep

The 3.1 is a stroked 2.8, very little difference. Get a 3.4, add a cam, port and polish the heads, 3 angle valve job, use the 2.8 intake but port it out, have the cylinder honed and replace the pistons and rings, then add a trans-go shift kit to the tranny. You will spend about 6-800 for the motor, have someone do the porting then do the rest with your dad, you will also make more power this way and addind two engines will add a ton of weight. You can also do the swap in a few days, not a few years. It would be just as easy of a spwap for the Fiero or a F-body but remember, RWD motors and FWD motors and not built the same way. As far as I know Fiero 2.8 heads will not bolt up to a RWD 2.8. It would be REALLY hard to swap a FWD motor into the Fiero, I know a guy that tried and gave up $5k later

thanks for the info i'll talk it over with my dad but i don't think he'll go for it he's had alot of bad experiences with swaps i still remeber he had this old '79dodge cargo van with a 318 4 speed the body was rusted to **** but he had some time and a 340 outta this 75 pickup so swaped engines except we had to have more power cause of our boat so it just started with headers then to edlebrock manifold the to the newest carb next the cam and lifters then heads the the gas shot up and off it went for 1000 bucks. so basicly just do the simple things and wait till i have alot of $$$ and time to do swaps

Do a search for the 3.4, there is a lot of good info and a lot of guys have done it so you can't mess up, everything hooks right up, yeah some sensors and stuff are in different spots but still VERY easy. This is for the F-body.Originally posted by firebird/intrep

LOL, I don't blame you Ked. Half the time I can't understand what this guy is even trying to say, and the other half...I understand, I just have a hard time believing someone has enough of a lack of intelligence to say it.Originally posted by KED85

Okay the idea here is completely rediculous. If you want someting better in snow buy a cavalier or old corsica. Why spend weeks molding an area for this engine in the back when you could buy a winter beater for way less?
