Under passenger side dash, pull the apperence panel down. Then look up and find that silver box (computer), wiggle and pull it down, and unplug it.
Take to work bench, undo the little cover, usually reqires removel of two 1/4" in size screws. Ground yourself to metal object while removing the chip that looks like the one you just bought, then plug yours back in place. Only go one one way, if it doesnt want to go on, rotate it. DONT FORCE IT.
Install is reverse of above.

Did you buy it from a store? You might want to try to take it back. I had one, only noticed a difference from the TCC delay (I have an automatic transmission). Took it back out on the recommendation of GlennL98 (one of the PROM burners on thirdgen.org), and noticed no difference. Glenn said the few ADS proms he looked at had really crappy programming done, and that I'd be better off with the GM chip. I noticed no difference taking it out, so I don't doubt him. Hopefully your results vary though, and you'll see an improvement, since you bought it already.
For those of you who helped thank you, For the one who has a big mouth, i bought it on ebay and didn't get the instructions and have never had to do any work with the computer yet. It's people like you that prevent people from asking questions on open forums like this because they don't want to get made fun of. So why don't you shut your face

I do not prevent anyone from asking questions, ask away, I could care less, but when people cannot see the search button on the top of the forum pages(and it is now working) and do not use it, and then repeatedly ask the same questions over and over gets old.
Hell, do you even have a service manual for your car? If so you would have found those instructions in there as well.(where computer is located, how to remove, how to open for inspection)
It's people like you that come on here and ask for help(which is perfectly fine) but refuse to put any effort forth on your own(which is blantently obvious here) personally pisses me off, and wastes the time of others tring to explain things that should not have to be explained.
So my advise to you, go to the store, buy a service anual, READ IT and learn something. If it cannot be found in the manual, then come back and ask about it.
If this offends you, oh well. deal with it.
