Fuel Lines, Temp solution??
Ok guys, im almost done with my L32 engine swap. Just down to the fuel lines.
Now, I can not manage to save up the 200 bones fast enough to make it to the first car show I want to attend with it. Is their any idea how I can make some temp fuel lines for it. Show is about 30 miles away from my house. I am also wanting to make it so it can move in and out of the garage so my pops can texture the celiing and do our usual summer clean up.
I am thinking high pressure fuel lines, and triple hose clamp on each end?? Lines will be about 6 feet long each. Send and return. Supp napa carrys some that will work, would be 2.50 a foot, $30, plus clamps and uncle sams cut.
Any Ideas??

Nobody carrys metric, and the proper flare/end needed.
Plus, I still need it to flex somewhere. I can't run hard line from the engine to the frame.

Yeah, I guess that would be a bit harder to find then metric brake lines. Someone's gotta carry it though... somewhere, out there...

is the answer

another.
IF ya use the clamps...
cris/cross them
Clamp screw one side, then other side, then other.
I recall my 1975 FI Opel SportWagon having used clamps & FI Hose. ALL over, too.

PS Ya can tell, kinda instantly, if clamps will hold.

a little overkill on the clamps. I had to replace a section of both fuel lines that run along the engine bay subframe. stupid thing developed pin holes and hosed the brake booster & underside of hood
. I got a section of the really expensive high pressure fuel line & clamped it on. I had at least 1" of overlap. No leaks yet (crosses fingers) You could get some bulk metric line, bend it, get couplers, and do a metric double flare to seal. that & teflon tape. worked good on my rear brakes.

The exlimation (sp?) is the fuel line, the periods the "screw" clamp part.
BY ATLERNATING, you keep pressure from slipping thru a weak spot.
I did this on my tranny lines to the rubber hose to the tranny cooler & it worked so great! I used two or three clamps. I do not have flared fitting on end of the hard tranny lines. I just cut & inserted tranny rubber hose (special Hi Pressure stuff as is Fuel Injection hose).

You hitting your head!
I keep making that "diagram" so nice & I upload it & it gets screwd up!
The smaller the clamp & clamping force, bigger he chance for a weak spot.
This tip has worked real well for me.
Yeah it is fun.
More fun keeping prices down.
Spent yesterday just deciding on KITCHEN counter top tile design to keep 1947 home built date touch!
Already decided on floor tile (EASY!).
Now onto design touch for the shower & the back splash for the stove/oven area (see pic of pile of redwood pulled from breakfast nook!)
I love California Redwood, reminds me of my trips up Ca coast. This wood feels so good in your hands.
This redwood was installed in 1963! I want to keep this house!
Imagine finding your desired old 1956 Corvtte, yet having to fix & sell for profit, but you start to fall in love with it as you put your hands on it!
THIS IS SUCH A REAL CRAFTSMAN HOUSE
I'll bet I won't even see a new crack from the earthquake we had last night (I thought it was the wind!).

Yea, I seen that stack of red wood.
Made me wanna cry. Wish I could have it shipped out here for decent price.
Me buy 53-55 vette?? It wont ever be to resale!!! Only time it would get sold is after my body is in the ground!!!!
This fuel line set up is for temp use only. Hopefully no more then 5 hours of drive time.
I had someone tell me that did equivilent swap, this is how theirs is running permenitaly.
I don't desire for perminate fix, just temp.
