What rear end came in an 89 RS with the 2.8 engine? the tech data page says 3.42..would that be a posi rear end?

Nope, open ended. You think GM is going to spend extra money for a posi on our cars??? Cheap a$$es. Placing relays all over the engine compartment instead of making them in one single spot... and FUSES too.. why couldn't they do that??

And another thing... who's bright idea was to use TORX bolts on a water pump?? Aren't regular bolts adequate to hold it in?? Same thing with the cooking ignition coil over the passenger manifold?

I'm a little bitter, just got college rejection letters.

I believe Torx is better suited for an assembly line... but not too good for the home mechanic, especially if you snap a torx bit off. Torx started after '86. I've got regular bolts on the water pump!
