edelbrock torker II manifold ?

i have the option of buying a complete torker II setup for my 2.8. my only question and consern is that its not setup for smog or emission in any way at all. HOw would this effect a manifold and carb swap? would i have to deal with screwing with computer or can it just be swaped and the sensors left as is? and i have a computer controled carb and want a nice vaccum powerd holley is all of this possible ? and what needs to be done can any one help , thanks

The intake that Edelbrock makes for the V6 Carb. cars is called a Performer. You get the manifold (base) and then there is a chose of two different tops one is for the factory 2 barrell which has the provisions for the EGR the other is for a four barrell which edelbrock only recomends using a Holley 390CFM carb. This setup is not EGR equipped.
The part number for the base is #3785
The number for the 2 barrell top is #3787
and the 4 barrell number is #3789
(These numbers are from a 1999 catalog so they may have changed)
I hope that this helps some.

I just remembered something else I believe that there is an issue with hood clearence when using the 4 barrell setup.

2.8 edelbrock intake

ive been looking into this , i know all the options avalable such as the standerd base with either the 4 barrel top mount or the oem egr 2 barrel stock replacment one. Looking into it i found the 2 barrel one would go on very easily except one thing. It doesnt appear to have the to ports for the power break lines at the rear of the manifold , all other sensors and such are there in the front though, so i dont understand why this would be missing? any help on what to do with that ? thanks

I've explored this option for my 1985 Blazer I've had since 1989.
Know what I really suggest?
MAKE A SPACER FOR THE FACTORY MANIFOLD!
Serious...
The only true Edelbrock diff I've noticed is the HEIGHT of carb off the base!
Notice the previous response says carb height is a factor!
That is true, so obtain the free edelbrock parts catalog & check the dimensions that Cammee says need be included with the manifold pic.
A slightly higher raised carb will increase volumn & efficency - EVER SO SLIGHTLY TO DRAMATICALLY-depends on engine & application!

I'm seeking a throwaway carb & intake to create this idea & slip under my 3.4 powered carb inducted Blazer ride.
I DO KNOW THAT increasing this spacer TOO HIGH can offset the linkage & cable adjustments.
I'm gonna shoot for a 3/4" rise, carb off base, as a compromise. One inch spacers tend to work well on 4 barrel carbs. I used one on a past ride & that spacer did help.

Cammee is Vic's Daughter, head of Advertising & Production at Edelbrock in Torrance.
SHE'S CUTE, SMART & A RACE DRIVER OF THE FAMILIES VINTAGE RACE CAR FLEET, TOO!
But she didn't like my suggestion of how to redesign the ads nor catalog publications.
I told her the ads are sufficating under too much copy & pictures and banners. I told her to use more white space. After my interview/discussion I think I saw one ad like that.
