2.8 T-5 tranny??

2.8 T-5 tranny??
I have an 84 firebird and people have been telling me that the 5 speed tranny for that year was only made that year. I have also heard that a v6 T-5 tranny is a T-5 tranny and that they are all the same. I am wondering if any T-5 tranny would work or do i need the "special one" for the year of my car?

Transmission: World Class T5 5 Speed
BS. You've got a T5 Non-world class tranny. My suggestion, find a Camaro or Firebird V6 (has to be from a V6) from '89 or up, and replace ti with a World Class T5
BTW - you have to use a T5 from a V6 - 14spline input shaft.
