Took Her out of storage today!!!!

Took the maro back out today, its sitting in the driveway waiting to go to another friends garage where we can tear the 2.8 down.. It is knocking like a ****.. but I still enjoyed the 300M jaunt in the camaro way more than driving that ol golf everyday, seemed more solid and drove better even though the motors gone(i think) heres some pics i snapped...

Man your car still holds a nice shine.

So are you still planning on a SBC swap with a TH350? Last I read that was the plan. If so, what did you get the SBC from for a donor?

possibly, but now i'm not totally certain the tranny is shot.. it's weird, i thought the whole thing was dead but it might not be.... If at al possible i just want to fix the 2.8 for cheap if not shes coming out,

what are my possibilities for what happened to the motor going by the loud knocking?

snapped connecting rod? bent valve?

Well a bad engine can make the trans seem like it's dead... even an exhaust leak or faulty ignition can seem like a trans problem.

Connecting rods usually don't snap. In fact, I've never heard of that happening. When I blew up a 318 in my old orange 78 pickup, I twisted a rod about 90 degrees and the cap gave way right in the middle (surprisingly, the bolts held). You might have a bent rod. Is it a deep knock?

i'm surprised that anything happend to the 318, i used to have one in a ram 350 van, it had about a million miles on it and it could still do a brakeburn and doughnuts, that's until my dad sold it the noise could also be a spun bairing
