Well those are both throttle position sensor codes. Code 22 is low voltage..meaning, your throttle position sensor is acting up...giving an output too low. Code 23, as I interpret it, means the sensor finally died. Now, I'm not sure whether the throttle position sensor will cause a car not to operate...I assume it'll drive a little ways but run like *** because the car has to throw a default value to something that is continuously variable.

I think a failing TPS would cause severe drive-ability issues because the car wouldn't know how much you were on the throttle, and I don't know how much other sensors, like the MAF, can compensate for that. Probably not much and not very accurately.

Replace your throttle position sensor to begin with and see what happens. Also as you mentioned, check for spark. Did you remember to put the dielectric grease on the underside of the ICM? I believe ICMs are prone to failure unless installed properly and installed with that grease, because the intense heat in there burn the suckers up. Also voltage spikes will trash an ICM as well. Karl (KED85) on the boards had a problem with his new alternator short-circuiting his ICM. He went through several before he found out.

If you arent getting spark, I'd bet on the ICM.....coils don't typically fail. Many on the boards are still using the original, 10+ year old coils...

it started right up a half hour later, it always does this, but i thought it finally kicked it, the 23 is the manifold air temp. sensor. the tps is jsut mis adjusted because it ook it off a few months back and havent adjusted it yet. i put all the grease on when i got it. im nots rue what the hell it is.

I was unaware that 2.8's had MAT sensors... Are they located near the MAF? Either way, the MAT is not a major sensor and shouldn't cause problems. Just lets the car know what temperature the incoming air is so it can fine-tune the air fuel ratios to account for air density due to temperature differences.

By the way...adjust the TPS! It will probably help a LOT with the driveability issues!

Sounds like faulty ign. coil.
