Stupid Head Question

In the pic, what is that hump for that my arrows point to. Anyone taken them out, or modified them?

Dale, You can polish them- but don't remove that vane! That vane increases intake flow by 17%.

Looks like a blockage, but it increases O well, I will take others words on this one.

Sometime when I take the intake off my new 3.4l, It will get polished.
