The HT3.4 GM crate motor is the same exact motor that came stock in the '93-'95 60*v6 Camaros. Gm lists it as a high performance upgrade for the older 2.8 S10 trucks

Cam lift is .427"I/ .454"E w/ 1.5 rockers

The 3.4l crate engine, and the 3.4l camaro engine do have different cams, and are different part numbers. I checked that thursday after work.

The crate cam is designed for low end tourqe, where the camaro cam is designed for mid range horse power.

Dale, do you happen to have the cam specs on the Camaro 3.4 then- I've obiously been given bad info- I was told it is the same exact motor.

Thanks, Dean

Crank, pistons, are the same.
Block the only difference is the camaro motor is machined for cam sensor.
As for cam, the crate is designed for carb, and tourqe. S10 board uses it for TBI's still, unsure if anyone has put multiport on it.

I do know for a FACT, the part number is different.

This is what I was given on crate cam.

204/216 @ 0.050, .427"/.454"(w/1.5), 107 lobe spacing, 107 ICL, 107 ECL

I can confirm the specs on the HT3.4/ they are correct ( thats the same specs I've had). What I can't find is the specs on the stock 3.4 Camaro motor's cam.

What I can confirm from tonights research is:

GM performance crate motor- HT3.4: 160HP @ 5000rpm/ 194ft lbs @ 2700rpm

Stock 3.4 Camaro crate motor-(Don't have part #?): 160HP @ 4600rpm/ 200ft lbs @ 3600rpm

With those dyno specs, they definately have different cam grinds
Question now is
1) What is the part # for the stock 3.4 Camaro longblock?
2) What is the cam grind specs for that motor?

I did some searching on here after I posted that, and found the specs, the same But I left it at home , but the specs are on here, and they are the same. Strange.

I know on my s10 board (s-series.org) they say the cam for the crate is very tourqe. And the one for the camaro is high rpm and "weak" in their eyes.

Thats not it, thats a 5.7 V8 cam spec for F-bodies and Y-bodies in '94. Y-bodies are Vettes and as we all know did not have V6's
