w3rd... it was 4 bolts in my camaro(same for my freinds 2001 formula), doesnt do much for you, it weighs in at a wopping 10 lbs - maybe, i never actually weighed it, i do that when i get home
lol are we talking about the same part.............
i'm trying to get out the back rest of the rear seat
(to install my amps)
i felt an opening for a allen key but just can not find
a way to get leverage
but if worse comes to worse i'll just cut them out somehow!

Yeah; I'm not sure we're talking about the same part. You mean the part of the rear seats of which a person's back would rest against, right? The part that folds forward? Two 13 mm nuts in each lower corner. The seat bottoms have one 13mm nut dead center of the seat bottom, right below a passenger's crotch.... just like Mikes86SC and everyone said. Did someone replace your bolts/nuts with allen headed ones? Odd.

hey tom how are you doing?
yes the fold down part is what i need to take out....
I pulled back the cloth & foam but only saw a single nut on each side (on the inner portion of the chair near your rear pocket)
so going by feel alone b/c we (there were 3 of us at this point) figured it must be some sort of allen we even looked at several other parts of the car and they were also allen
there is just no way of getting at the nut

You don't need to pull back any cloth or foam... you're not going after the right thing. A 13mm socket on a rachet handle fits perfectly back there. Look again... take out the seat bottoms if you have to.

When you look, remember that you're removing the whole hinge from the car. You dont' unbolt the seat from the hinge... maybe that's what you're trying to do?
