3.1 or 3.4
Hey guys my bro wrecked his 92 RS 3.1L a few years back and im putting it back together just needed a new front end but im not exactly sure how good the Engine is going to be, last time me and my bro tryed to get it going we couldnt, I was just wondering if it turns out to be really crappy or even if it runs well after i do a tune up... should i put all my money into moding the 3.1L or should i go to the 3.4L i see alot of people doing the conversion and im just wondering if the 3.4L is that much better or what just looking for a few answers thanks guys...

i suggest keepin the engine that came stock...and they last long ive heard. like some guy had his going over 200,000 if i remember
but yeah, i think the 3.4 might be a little easier too mod (a little), but i think 3.1's are more challengin.
im bias though, because i have a 3.1

if the motor in there is dead already, go for the 3.4, you might as well. If the engine runs, get a 3.4 from a junkyard, tear it down in the garage, rebuild it, and take a weekend to drop it in later. That's what I plan on doing when my motor starts to go south on me.

Modding the 3.1l, or the 3.4l will in theory be the same. Its just with a 3.4l you will start off with 20 more ponies.
If you get it started, and it runs reasonable, start doing the basic outsides mods to the 3.1l. Then later can drop the 3.4l underneith it when the 3.1l starts to wear out.
If it doesnt run, then go ahead and look at a 3.4l.
