Can't get cool air

Hi Guy,

I am the Taiwanese with the Firebird V6, the working temp is higher than my Grand Am 93, so the temp inside the car is pretty high too, the car already added 2 more fans but they said that there is no cool air come in when driving beacuse there is no hole in the front(either hood and bumper), how do you guy fix this problem except the ram air hood modify.

Thank you.

Joe

Look under your car. There should be a "fin" running along the length of the front of the car under the radiator. A lot of tmes, that gets ripped off, and you'll need a new one - it pushes air up and into the radiator from under the car.

In case you need one, its called an air dam.

beautiful drawing mike the purpose of that lil' black piece of plastic is to deflect air up on the radiator and over the engine, thus cooling the car's engine bay slightly (alot). So , if it's missing get it, check bone yards and whatnot, the piece is actually a 3 piece setup, 0ne piece in the middle ot deflect the air up, and the other two on the corners deflecting air around the car instead of under neith the undercarriage.

Odd... can't say that my Camaro has the side ones. Are the Firebird only?

Yep...only Firebirds have the 3 piece. Camaros had the one piece center one.

EDIT: Well I probably shouldn't say ONLY....but I will say that I have NEVER seen a Camaro with a 3 piece...only Firebirds...not many at that! My friend's 84 T/A had a 3 piece.

yep, mine looks like skates, never noticed that they were firebird specific on the three piece model though, huh. Also, a lot of mid gen T/A's that i've seen have the one piece camaro styled air dam. Actually, i'm only running the middle piece right now on mine because i had just recently put the t/A ground fx on the car, but the sides will be going back on as soon as i can get a lil' bit of time...ooh, got a lil bit of time right now.

GM IROC Wonderbar (yes I know, I think Wonder Bra every time I write it! lol) and it's powdercoated red.

OHHHH...so THAT's where those go. That's a brace for your steering box to keep it from cracking, correct?

I honestly don't think it matters either way.... It's still added strength.

No, there is steering box brace is a different part. If I remember they are a rare part to find, but that is something I might get. I think AGood2.8 has one or I would think he would considering he's into auto-x'ing.
