Trouble taking off intake plenum

I can't seem to get it off, i took all 10 bolts off from each side, including the throttle cable bracket and throttle body. It just seems stuck on and I can't see what is holding it down. The reason im taking it off is to give it a polish since its just sitting there after I pulled the transmission to replace the clutch and rear main seal. Can someone give me a hand? Im following the haynes book and did everything it said, it seems stuck on, thanks.

did you try using a prybar/large screwdriver to break it loose?

yup, your intake gasket have "glued" them together. best use putty knife to prevent goouging mating surfaces.

Hahaha. Well I tried a large flat head and no avail so I had mr. intake plenum meet mr. rubber mallet and all went well, a few light taps and it came loose. Ok quick question, do I need to replace my gasket now or should I use the old one? If it needs replacing is there somewhere like Hi/Lo or Autozone that would carry it here in town? Thanks for the replies guys.

Call around! Tell them ya need a gasket for the upper intake plenum, that goes between the two halves...they'll probably be able to look it up or something. Worse comes to worse, go in in person with a picture or something and show them what you need.

I assume Discount Auto (Advance Auto Parts in some areas), Autozone, or Pep Boys might carry one. Good chance they might not have it in stock though.
