Cam and Lifter Wear Question
I'm getting a used cam installed here real soon....and I forget exactly what the rules are for swapping cam and lifters. The cam is used.....and it's a different cam than the one my lifters are worn to, though I doubt that matters....lifters have 147,000 miles of wear. Can I use the original lifters with this new, used cam?? I don't wanna be going down the road and suddenly realize I've ground my lobes down to shavings. Thanks!

So then what can I do? Cause wouldn't new lifters on a used cam rip it to shreds?
I already bought the cam...lifters weren't included...so returning isn't an option!

I've known folks to put new flat tappet lifters on a used cam. Sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't.

Everything I've read so far tells me it's a roller.

If that's the case, yeah, you got a roller, and yeah, you can use your stock roller lifters on it.
