Maybe... if you had proof of it's performance.

No way. You can't get any power out of a V6, anyway.

Yes, I'd be interested, if it were under $3k.

Interested in a turbo kit?
With my own research and all going on, I'm curious as to ACTUAL interest in a 60º V6 turbo kit, for our 3rd gen vehicles.
It would include -
Custom PROM
New 16G Turbo
New 19pph injectors
All piping/manifolds (I could do it with custom manifolds, or use my current piping method)
BOV
Intercooled or non intercooled.
Run 6-8 psi boost. It'd be compatible with all 60º blocks, clearanced for 3rd gens.
I figure anywhere from $2k to $4k for the complete kit, with instructions (of course, lol)
What kind of interest is there actually out there for something like this? I'd (obviously) have full dyno runs and all. Figure it'd bolt on somewhere between 80-120hp.
Perhaps do customs too, with lower cr forged pistons. I'd sell forged pistons/rods as well. Is there any real market for a powerful V6?
Also, what would you guys be willing to spend on the kit? I could do it boneyard cheap, with rebuilt turbos (like $1500) or with new turbos ($2k+) or with custom manifolds as well ($3k)

I see I'm getting some votes... but no feedback...
Let me ask this -
What would you expect from a custom built turbo kit?

No- because the 2.8/3.1 RWD block and heads can't handle it- thats why no company has ever made one- it would not last. There is one made for the 3.4 block and heads('93-95 Camaros) because they are much stronger.
Edit: if I thought highly of the 2.8/3.1 motor, then my name would be AGreat2.8

*shrugs* I'm of the mindset that no one's done it, hence no one knows.
The only turbo 2.8 I know is pushing like 500+ hp. The block can handle it. The rods? I can get forged rods. Pistons? Same there. Honestly, a 3.1 (or 2.8 stroker to 3.1) with 8.5:1 cr would simply fly, in my opinion, with 10-14 psi boost.
At least, I think it will. So I'm going to build one, and see. From what I've seen from my poll, is that IF the power is there, then people will be interested...

I'm not here to argue, just to inform- You don't have to agree with my opinion, heck, I should just maybe keep my mouth shut and let you guys wate your money fitting a turbo onto it and finding out $$$$ later that it was a big mistake. The stock RWD 2.8's have had a long reputation as being "2.crap" The bottom ends are weak and suffer friom extensive endplay if abused-
Don't trust my opinion- ask a professional who owns a repair shop that has specialized in F-bodies for years- He's on these boards. his name is DynoDon- Don litterally has his own scrapyard of broken 2.8 & 3.1 motors.

If the 2.8/3.1 can handle a 75 shot of nitrous stock, I'd think it could handle 6-8psi stock, as well. As long as the fuel delivery problems were dealt with.
Also a quick bump, still wondering if there is actually any demand for a turbo kit for our cars....
AM91, if you read this, would you be willing to help me do a kit for the MAP based cars? (730 ecu)

If it were under 3K, written like someone yourself who ACTUALLY installed it, and worked with MAP (I have a 3.1L) I'd be totally for it!!
