Highest selling V6?

Alright, here's the lowdown. I was originally going to sell the maro for 2,500, until everyone talked me out of it and said to go no lower than 3,000. Apparently people are alot more gullible than they seem. There are V6 camaros running from 1,500 all the way up to 4,500 in my area, in various conditions. Not to brag, but for a 3.1, and being black, my camaro looks much much cleaner and nicer looking than most of what I have seen. And compared to the looks I get, it OWNS!

But anyways, what is a good asking price for it? What should I not go below? It has 129,000 miles, and is in good mechanical order. Brand new starter, brand new tires, and next week, brand new high-flow cat and Dynomax cat-back system. The exterior paint is black, with T-tops, grey, well-kept interior. No stains or any of that crap, and I don't smoke. The paint is actually pretty well kept for being a thirdgen. I've only seen one or two thirdgens with better paint than mine.

I know you guys probably want pics, but sorry I don't have them! I didn't ****** the digital camara from my girl in time, and now that she is thousands of miles away, I won't get it back anytime soon.

I think I'm going to drop it off at the bar my mom owns, lots of drunks up there, and lots of gullible people. I'm sure someone will pick it up for somewhere around 3,000.

Anyways, what's a good asking price, and of well-kept thirdgen V6's in general?

I'm in the same situation, I've got a 92 Camaro RS with quite a few goodies including NEW paint and SS Hood, etc...about $4400 worth of crap in addition to what the car is worth... that I'm trying to sell, and its going to be tough to find someone to buy it, because no one wants a v6/automatic camaro, even if it looks awesome ,

I've found that typically normal cars go for about 80% of blue book value, so I'd say an even $3k is about right for your car, but if your not in a hurry to sell, it doesn't hurt to try for more.

List it as $3750 OBO... then let them 'talk you down' to the $3000-3200 mark. They'll think they saved a bundle, and you make out with what you wanted!

Mine was goign for 4200 then this guy outta australia told me to give him the final price he would pay so i said 4500 because i had just replaced the seats. And 4500 is what i'm getting the tranny is rebuilt with about 15k on it and the motor has roughly 50k on it it was redone b4 i bought it but i have 7k invested. Granted its all show and a little go but it does win shows so i cant argue with hwhat i'm selling it for it'll give me about 1500 extra to spend right away on my soon to be iroc. I need a better cam for sunny days but the body is perfect and the paint is unbelievable. Not a spot of rust anywhere and it was taken down to bare metal.

I wouldn't take any less than 12K for mine if I were to post it. I didn't build it to sell it. This car rivals any race car/show car underneath- everything is built.

Kinda funny i was never a fan of paint liek that but theres something about it that just attracts me to it. Looks real good.
I originally bought mine to fix up and seel but then she grew on me long story short 2 1/2 years later and over 7k invested and im still losing 3k on her. But here in colorado theres the nice that no one wants to pay good money for theres a couple camaros and birds going for 9 or 10k with some mods. Granted theres a 91 z28 1le i believe going for 25k with like 20k miles

When i bought my camaro it was 4,200 dollars it had 130,000 miles on it needed some work but the interior was perfect and ran well. 5 years later i still have it and have put on almsot 100,000 miles and still runs strong. ITs allot better now since i set my timing correctly. Has the power i had before i changed the timing chain and then some.

If you can get more than a grand out of a 6cyl thirdgen, hats off to you.

mine

I bought my 89 camaro rs w/ t-top/automatic V6 for $500.00 and could have turned around and sold it that day for over $2000. I could easily still get that without any mods here in kansas. Sayin as it's my first car though I'm saving up some money to do mods on it and raise the value a ton. If anyone has any good ideas let me know on what to do.

I don't know anyone that would pay like over 3k for a v6 thirdgen when they could get a v8 one in similiar condition. Most people who know all about thirdgens usually will not go seeking a V6 thirdgen unless they really really like the engine.

I paid 2k for mine, at the time engine did not matter to me since I just wanted a cool looking car to drive to highschool in. If I knew more about cars back then I would have borrowed an extra 2k from my parents and bought a 92 Z28 black Z28 in great condition that I saw at a car lot.

I think anything above 2,000 is a good price for a relatively stock v6 thirdgen, 1989 turbo excluded of course.

When I bought my car 5 years ago, I paid 3k for it (that's Canadian bucks since I live in Vancouver). I really wanted a Z28, but at the time I only found Z28s for 3k that needed AT LEAST 3k to get them on the road. Around here, a v8 for that kinda money was run into the ground. I would have needed 5-6k at least for a good running v8.

Just looking up what my moms old escort is worth, its a 94 loaded LX with a tad over 100,000. It listed as 1,250 in fair condition

My 86 bird is listed for 1150 in good condition.

Paid $800 about 4 years ago for it. When I looked it up then it was at 2600.
