300hp Supercharged 3.4L

http://www.rocketekmarine.com/specs.htm

Rocketek selected the General Motors 3.4 ltr 60 degree V6 engine for a variety of of reasons. Generating high horsepower from a small package requires a strong base engine and superior components to assure reliability. The race heritage of this engine combined with its use in current and future automotive applications proves the reliability over a wide range of applications. The utilization of this engine and our innovative design makes this package the highest horsepower to weight ratio in the Marine industry.
w00t for 60degree power!

marine engines are not a whole lot different from normal car engines, it would not take much to put a marine engine in a car...

A Marine engine generally differs in the cooling set up. And cam, that's about it.
I SAY await what GM reissues in the new 60* engine family. 2005 Caddy STS!
It may be (Supercharged version) here sooner than ya think!

Marine engines draw in fresh water and spit it right back out once it goes thru the motor.

Looking close anD it looks like them headers are water cooled / part of the cooling system. Them headers would be helpful in a turbo setup maybe, if they can be fliped around backwards.

The guy's an idiot- any motor will do 85mph in 2 gear if the gear box and rear patio is geared right- only problem is- its 0-85mph in fifteen minutes

--------------------

As for marine engine cooling- the water inlet is first pumped through the exhaust manifolds to warm a bit before entering the block- this way too cool of water will not crack the block.

The 175HP version is the same exact HT3.4 160HP motpr from GM. The 160HP rating is in a stock S10 with stock exahaust manifolds and belt assesories attached. All they run on it in the boat is an alternator. Take off your pulley belts some time and you all will see how much faster your car will feel. There is net HP and gross HP ratings on all engines.

With 3.42s and a T5 and full redline shift will see 85 in 2nd.
Not the best way to get to 85, but you will and can. You could get 90 if you over rev.

I don't think so partner.

Do you realise the motor would have to tack 7200 rpm's with a 26" tall rear tire?

WHen my tranny on my camaro would not shift into 3rd or 4th i only had 1st and second gear. I figured since my tranny was screwed i would see how fast i could go in second gear i was able to do 90 and that was pushing redline.
