how to remove rotor, no screws like Haynes says

How do you remove the rotors on our cars (3.1L '91 camaro RS)? There aren't any screws on the rotor as the Haynes manual shows.

I just replaced mine, had to tap it really hard to pop it off, it was a PITA. Getting the new one on was fairly easy though, just make sure it lines up right. Good luck.

Took a wrench to the back of it and hit it a few times, came right off. Thanks for the advice

I was a little scared of breaking it seeing how it is made out of plastic and all.

When I bought mine, the car had sat a year, and was not maintained. I ended up using a dent-puller with a "L" on the end to get it off.

Mine was a little stubborn too, but it came off without any problems after a little coaxing

Man I just pulled that bitch off! Don't be too scared! Just watch it when the thing comes off, because the last time I did it, I broke the vacuum line right above it! You are talking about the rotor in the distributor right? Not the brake rotors?

Yeah I was talking about the distribuor rotor. Also when I went to connect my new plug wires to my new plugs (rapid fires) they were very tight so I stopped pushing on them. I believe the size of my wires are 7mm, are these too small for the rapid fires? I have read many posts of people buying 8mm wires, but the guy at Napa told me these would work. Am I being too gentle with the plugs?

Please excuse my ignorance as my car knowledge is very limited, but I am learning.

7mm will be fine. For your application. Other cars, 8mm might be a good idea....but these cars, you won't see any difference from the extra millimeter.

As far as the plugwires....did you hear an engagement click noise when you pushed them on? Sometimes they feel like they're on the tightest they can go til you push em harder. You can push the living sh*t out of them all day without problems AS LONG AS YOU PUSH DIRECTLY ON THE END! As in, directly over of the plug. Don't push on the rest of the boot. Don't twist it or bend it. Just push straight down..otherwise you can damage the boot or the connections inside it.

Thanks a lot Nixon1, I will finish attaching everything tomorrow. I can't wait to get it back up and running to see if it will fix the cold start problem I am having.
