hey people got a couple questions for ya.

k i dont have my kick down wire hooked up as yet still wateing for the parts for it to come. but i am wondering could i do any damage to my tranny with it not hooked up? also does it effect my take off when going WOT from a stop? and last does it effect shifting when normal driveing?

oh one more question if i needed a longer kick down wire is there another gm car/truck i could get it from at the yard that i can use?? does it matter what tranny i have?
my engine is carbed if that makes a diffrence.
any help would be great, thanks!

From my understanding, the trans (700r4) could burn up with out the cable attached. This is due to the line pressure in the trans that won't increase when you hit the throttle.

I'm not sure on the rest of what your asking though. I would check with your local GM delear and see if they have any recomendations for riging up a "detent" cable to a carb set up. Actucally, thinking about it, you could probably just get a cable from GM and rig it to a 2.8 carbed version. I think what I'm wondering myself is if it's an aftermarket carb if it would make a difference in the hook up.

Good luck.
