auto / stick cranks same?

Were there two different cranks for the auto and stick cars?

I have a 1985 2.8 auto car and want to swap a stick into it....are the cranks the same?

We went through a deal with flywheels when we did the 5 speed swap in my 88 Camaro.... the guy we took it to to balance it said that some of them are internally balanced (crank I assume) and some are externally balanced (flywheel). The 5 speed car that we raped was externally balanced and mine is internally.... so the guy grinded off the weights and balanced it for us. Mine is an 88, and I think the 5 speed car was an 86, but not 100%.
