chock front wheels, put in drive. raise rear by axle pumpkin. rotate one wheel forward. sneak peek at other wheel. if they both are gong forward it's posi. if they go opposite, yo have teh one tire fire.

Now that I think about it, this was one of the ways we checked on my 77 T/A. The twin plow marks ini the feild were the other <---- It was a 4sp

That method (raise both tires and spin one by hand) won't work for a posi that's a bit worn out. Only true way is to remove the rear cover and have a look inside.

Shouldnt the car be in Nuetral and off?? then you spin the tire???
The best way to me is to see if it's posi is to look up the number on the front of the right axle housing and the first three digits is the identification code of the axle(the rest of the numbers tell you when it was made etc..) and another plus of looking it up is you can tell the axle ratio oh and one more thing I identify them with the book so if you dont like have the book or know where you can identify this is pointless.

I don't think that any of the V6's came with posi stock. Unless someone has had the ambition to put posi in it aftermarket, then it doesn't.
