v6 alt? same?????

v6 alt? same?????

i put my v6 altinator in my v8 camaro because it went, i changed the pully because the v6 had AC and the camaro does not. anyway i am useing the same batter that was in the bird and same altinator, when they were in the bird the bat gauge use be be almost up at the top. since i put them in my v8 the gauge says it just below half. i no both gauges work fine, what i am wondering is is there a diffrence in power for the v8?? do i need a diffrent altinator? is it ok to use the v6 one in my v8??

Yes...no i cant say forsure..but when you go to autozone to buy an alt..they ask what engine...so they ahve to be diff right?

V6 MPFI WITH AC & power options takes the 105 AMP.
NOTHING LESS.
No matter if V8 or V6 I'll bet.
All FI drivetrains probably take the 105 amp unit.

It also depends on the year. I think later model fuel injected motors had a few different amperages. My parts car '84 2.8 V6 firebird, with air conditioning, had a 74 amp alternator. What years are the cars?

the alt is from a 1984 v6 firebird with ac. i got it on a 83 v8

That is the same item as for my 1985 S10 Blazer w/AC.
You have the correct item. Housing may have to be rotated for fitment in the V6 engine bay.
