Yes, Finally!

Its a 91 RS 5spd 3.1

My white dragon is up and running (haha get a kick out of that movie when he says he is giving the red dragon a little more power) for the love of ***. I actually can drive it around again! I do have two problems now still, she idles fine when I start her up but if I gain some speed and begin to slow down the rpms drop slowly and sometimes stay at 500-600 and pick back up or it dies sometimes. I'd say its more than a 50 percent chance she dies but sometimes she won't. ANy suggestions?

Already checked most vacuum areas, but havn't checked thouroughly yet because its pretty late. I checked the IAC, that seems to be fine. Can someone pinpoint the major areas of it causing to stall while slowing down only? Also, gauge lights and shift indicator are not working all gauges are reading correctly and the gauge fuse is fine. Thanks.

Doward here... was the ECU or battery ever disconnected? I think our IAC's have to 're learn' themselves... drive steadily along at 55mph for about 20 minutes or so, I think is what the instructions with my new one said...

I'm at the shop at Vortex's place (shop.. eh... it's a covered slab of concrete - but has the essentials. Tools, a cold fridge, and plenty of cold ones!) and on his computer.

Just doing some surfing, before I crash, and tackle the turbo in the morning.

Try the trip, see what it does!

Yes they do need to re-learn. If I remeber correctly you need to do slow steady excelerations for about 5 or 10 min then drive like you normally do for another 10 min. It may stumble a bit at first but if you pay attention you will notice it getting better as it learns. I will look it up to make sure tomarrow and post agin.

Oh, the dummy lights are working, brights, SES, blinkers, they all work, just the guage indicator lights and my shift light is not functioning, I already changed my headlight switch like 2 weeks ago.

My ECU must be pretty smart...I only have to accelerate up to 40 , and then stop and it's fine. i have reset the computer a lot because of general engine work, and when I first start the car, it idles like crap, but once I hit 40, even for a second, it's happy again. hmmmmm...

At 40-45 mph the ECU completely closes the IAC valve and resets itself based on the newfound zero point.
