Fooling the emissions testers

I was thinking the other day about ways to fool it, and I was thinking could you just turn the tps down? I am not completely sure, but that would seem to me that if the computer thinks the throttle is open less, it would put less gas in. But then I would think you would need to jam the O2 sensor somehow. This would probably also only work if you were high on HC's since you would only be able to bring HC's down to a point before raising Carbon Monoxide (not sure, maybe the other one).
What do you think?

It MIGHT work...or it might make the car run like crap and put out even worse emissions as the computer system goes into limp mode and frantically starts tweaking things to stabalize the car...

You might look into an IAT modification to cut back on fuel. Some ricers plug in a piece with a set amount of electrical resistance to mimic a lower temperature...thereby telling the computer the air is colder and DENSER, so it adds fuel. Maybe you could do the reverse.

Probably just a lot easier to tune the motor up so it passes without any tricks...

I know V8 guys who retard the timing and create a hidden vacuum leak to pass the smog check. Problem is our computer like to compensate for stuff like that.

What ya need is a custom prom that would ignor engine reading / keep it stuck in loop mode so tweaks would work.

Yeah...the motors tuned well....just those darn 15lb injectors (that I just realized were there ) like to give me extra gas, and I was thinking of a way to get around that w/o a prom...However it seems as though I will need to look into the prom thing.

Something I did when i first had to pass smog: I mixed a half a tank of gas with a bottle of Bacardi 151. Pure alcohol burns REALLY clean. Car ran like crap while it was in the system though. Passed with no problems. I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't been driving 30 miles one way to work everyday to get the crap out of the system. Now that I've done A LOT of work to it, it passes just fine. I just needed it to pass so that I could get the pink slip for it.

YOU PUT BACARDI 151 IN YOUR GAS TANK?! That's a travesty! A waste of such fine alcohol!!

i know, but at least it went to a good cause...keeping an aging 3rd gen on the road. That's the way i looked at it. Plus, judging from what all I had to do to it since i bought it, it's had a hard life...it deserved the drink.
